Screens, batteries, slow and dead laptops
Laptop repairs at your place
Cracked screen, flat battery, won't turn on, or just painfully slow? A local technician comes to you, finds the fault for free and agrees a fixed price before any work starts. No hourly rate, no call-out fee.
Screens
Cracked, blank, flickering or lined laptop screens replaced. Most panels are $150–320 fitted.
Batteries & charging
Batteries that die in minutes, swell or won't charge, and loose or broken charging ports.
Slow laptops
An SSD upgrade with your files moved across makes an older laptop start in seconds. $150–280.
What we fix
- Screens: cracked, black, flickering, lines across the picture, or a broken hinge
- Batteries: won't hold a charge, swollen, or the laptop only works plugged in
- Won't turn on: no power, no lights, stuck on the logo or a black screen
- Slow or freezing: worn-out hard drive replaced with an SSD, memory upgrades, a clean-up of Windows
- Keyboards and trackpads: dead keys, liquid spills and trackpads that jump around
- Overheating and fan noise: dust cleaned out, fans checked and the cooling paste renewed
- Viruses, pop-ups and scams: cleaned up and secured (see virus removal)
- Files you can't get to: recovered from a dead laptop (see data recovery)
We work on Windows laptops from HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Microsoft Surface, MSI and most other brands, and on many MacBook faults too. Not sure? Call and tell us the model.

Repair or replace?
We tell you straight. A single fault on a sound laptop, such as a screen, a battery or a slow drive, is almost always worth fixing. When faults stack up and the total gets close to the price of a new laptop, we will say so, and if you do replace it we can move everything across to the new one for you.
How it works
- You call. We're open 24/7, and often we can tell what's wrong on the phone
- Free diagnosis at your place, then a fixed price before any work starts
- Most repairs are done on the spot. If a part needs ordering, we tell you how long and come back to fit it
- You check everything works before you pay
Laptop repairs — common questions
How much does a laptop screen replacement cost?
Most laptop screens are $150 to $320 fitted, depending on the model and panel. You get the exact price before we start, and most are done the same day if the panel is in stock.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. Every job is a fixed price agreed before work starts. There is no hourly rate, no one-hour minimum and no call-out fee, and diagnosis is free.
Is it worth fixing an old laptop?
Often, yes. An SSD upgrade ($150 to $280) can make a five or seven-year-old laptop faster than when it was new. When repairs add up to close to the price of a new one, we tell you so.
Will I lose my files?
Almost never. Screen, battery and keyboard repairs don't touch your files. For drive replacements we move everything across, and if a laptop won't start we can usually still get the files off.
Do you come to me?
Yes. We come to your home or business anywhere across Melbourne's south-east and the Mornington Peninsula, and some software problems can be fixed remotely the same day.
Ready to get it sorted?
